Yvonne Trevethick (sponsored obituary)

Yvonne Trevethick passed away suddenly at her home in Grass Valley on

August 3. She was 59 years old.

Yvonne was born on April 7, 1951 in Reno, Nevada. She lived at Donner

Lake until 2nd grade when she moved to Grass Valley and began to build

her life here. She graduated from Nevada Union High School with the class

of 1969. She and Greg Trevethick were happily married on April 4, 1970 and shared a very special love for each other over the following 40 years. Together they brought three wonderful boys into this world: Travis, Tyson and Tye, who subsequently blessed them with 4 grandchildren: Bailey, Trysten, Xander, Grace and a 5th grandchild is due in October.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Yvonne enjoyed horseback riding, mountain biking, and rollerblading; but most of all Yvonne loved to swim, especially in Lake Tahoe where she wanted to take her grandchildren this summer.

Yvonne always had a zest for life and, in return, life presented her with many opportunities. She found herself riding in helicopters, riding motorcycles, quads, dirt bikes, and bungee jumping among many other adventures.

Yvonne was also known for her lasagna and her amazing fudge, which she made every year for the holidays. Yvonne and Greg started A1 Carpet Masters in 1980. Over the continuing 30 years of business in Nevada County, Yvonne’s many customers all came to know her not only as a hard working business woman but also as a close and extraordinary friend. Yvonne’s sons, who were raised in the family business, intend to follow in her footsteps. Yvonne’s love for life and bubbly spirit was consuming.

All who met her came to know and love her infectious laugh and beaming smile. Words truly cannot describe the genuine love and kindness she showed to so many. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 18th at Lake Tahoe. Please R.S.V.P. by September 11th to YvonneMemorial@yahoo.com in order to receive directions and additional information.

Memorial donations can be made at the Brunswick branch of Wells Fargo in Grass Valley. Ask for the Yvonne Trevethick Memorial Account.
