Yvonne Parker

Services for Yvonne A. Parker of Nevada City will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at Foothill Church, 14600 Highway 49 in Grass Valley. Pastor Marvin Talamentez will officiate the services.

Mrs. Parker died Monday, March 21, at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. She was 82.

She was born June 4, 1922, in Pleasant City, Ohio, to Milford L. Atha and Gertrude Scott. She graduated from Guernsey County, Ohio High School, and attended some college at Butte College. She worked as a cook for St. Frances Hotel in San Francisco. She married Bob Oakes and then Clayton R. Parker. She was a member of the Foothill Foursquare Church, and a Bible teacher for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.



She is survived by her sons Bernard C. Parker of Danville, Wash., Jerry R. Parker of Port Hueneme, Clayton R. Parker Jr. of Ventura, and Douglas Fonley of Marysville; daughters Laura Parker of Nevada City, Margaret Brown of Camptonville, and Susan Houston of Georgia; sister, Charlene M. Welker of North San Juan; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton R. Parker Sr.; son, Lee Allen Parker; and brothers Scott and Alton Atha.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
