Yuba Highlands ballot measure stalled again

A proposal to put the Yuba Highlands housing project on a ballot was put on hold again by Yuba County Supervisors Tuesday night.

The idea presented by Chairman Hal Stocker two weeks ago was discussed for a second time last night and resulted in no action.

The environmental report for the 5,100 unit subdivision near Beale Air Force Base and Spenceville Wildlife Area was tentatively approved by supervisors last month when the board rejected an appeal by a coalition of environmental groups and labor unions.

Supervisors are expected to make their final decision on the environmental document sometime next month.
