Your Trip to the Fair – Everything You Need to Know
Getting there – The Gold Country Stage will be busy again this year bringing people to the Fairgrounds from Nevada City and Grass Valley for only a dollar. Call 477-0103 for schedules and pickup points.
Or, you can park at the Nevada Union High School upper parking lot and take the free shuttle, sponsored by Jim Keil Chevrolet dealership of Grass Valley, leaving every half hour starting at 8:30 a.m. The last return shuttle leaves the Fair at 11:30 p.m.
If you prefer to drive to the Fair, parking at Gate 4 is $4.
Getting in ” Admission still costs only $5 for adults, $2 for children 6 to 12, and for five-year-olds or younger, the Fair is free.
Seniors 62 and older will pay $2 on Wednesday. Thursday, Kids’ Day, youngsters 12 or under arriving between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. are guests of the Fair. Friday people with disabilities, plus a chaperon, are admitted free. Invited honor-roll students will get free admission on Friday.
Rides – Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. unlimited carnival rides are available for $18. Ride wristbands are available at the carnival on the Fairgrounds. Butler Amusements is offering new Pay One Price programs for the 2004 Fair ” be sure to check with the Butler ticket booth for the best ticketing options for your family.
Things to Know – At the Gate 1 main entrance you’ll find Guest Services, providing help with lost (and found) children. Rental strollers and wheelchairs are available, while they last. This booth is staffed by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Explorer Scouts.
Also just inside the Gate 1 entrance you’ll find ATM machines.
The First Aid Station is in the Northern Mines Building, across from the Pavilion. Professional medical personnel are available at the aid station during all Fair hours.
Security is provided throughout the Fairgrounds by the Nevada County Sheriff’s department and by Fair staffers wearing red shirts. Find one if you have a serious problem.
