Young Polish pianist plays Friday in NC at Foundry

Polish pianist Jacek Mysinski will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Frederic Chopin Friday at Miners Foundry Cultural Center.

Mysinski began his formal piano education at the State Primary Music School at age 7. Within a year he performed works by Chopin and Mozart in the Warsaw National Philharmonic Chamber Hall.

At age 11, Mysinski, now 19, received the first of numerous first prizes in national competitions in Poland.

Mysinski has performed twice in Nevada County: as a soloist at Music in the Mountains’ June 26 concert and in MIM’s all-Chopin concert two years ago.

Friday’s 8 p.m. concert is sponsored by the Gold Country Piano Institute.

Admission is $20 for adults, $12 for students and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are at Broad Street Book, Harmony Books, The Book Seller and Odyssey Books.
