Yes on Prop. 63

NAMI fully supports passage of Proposition 63, “The Mental Health Services Act,” Prop. 63 will fund much-needed mental health services for people with severe and persistent mental health illnesses, medical diseases of the brain which are treatable.

Prop. 63 offers early prevention as well as intervention treatment services to children, adults and older adults who suffer from serious mental illnesses. The services offered would include medication and therapy treatment, housing and job opportunities and especially outreach to our homeless and others difficult to reach and treat. The outreach services would use the proven methods of integrated service teams, offering direct assertive, intensive care in the community, wherever people are who need these services.

Funding for these Prop. 63 services would come from a one percent surcharge tax on personal taxable income in excess of $1 million. Check out the website at for more information. Vote “yes” on Prop 63 on Nov. 2!
