Yes on Measure R

On Nov. 2, the citizens of the Penn Valley Fire Protection District have a very important decision to make about the quality of fire safety and health services they will receive.

Measure R will provide 24/7 staffing of firefighter/paramedics at the Spenceville Road Fire Station and will be used only for additional personnel. This will ensure the people of the Penn Valley area a quicker critical response time when fire or medical emergencies do arise. It will also provide our district with automatic backup services during times when one of our ambulances or engines are responding to other emergency calls.

Measure ‘R’, at the cost of approximately 10 cents a day per parcel, is a very small price to pay for the additional peace of mind and essential services it will afford our district residents.

As a retired firefighter and a candidate for the Penn Valley Fire Protection District Board of Directors, I realize how important this is for our community. The passage of this measure will “save lives” and will lower fire damage costs, there is no doubt about it. I strongly recommend a yes vote on Measure R. It is the right thing to do for our community.
