Wylie Shackelford

Wylie Shackelford passed away Oct. 2 at her home in Smartville. She was 87. A private service will be held.

Born in Wyoming, Mrs. Shackelford attended high school in Colorado before becoming a 40 year Yuba-Sutter resident.

She worked for many years in the offices of the Marysville Unified School District. She was a homemaker, an avid skier and a member of the Smartsville Community Church.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Shackelford, whom she married Nov. 23, 1976; two daughters, Sally Green and Myphon Hunt, both of Yuba City; son, Harlan Hunt of Guernerville; stepdaughter, Jeannie Whitmore of Prunedale; stepson, Scott Shackelford of Sacramento; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is predeceased by her mother and father.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17 Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sierra View Memorial Park and Mortuary.
