Won’t be fooled again

It’s unfortunate, but there is a string of colloquialisms that apply to the current supervisorial race. The first being, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. The second being, if we don’t learn from history we are bound to repeat it.

Do we as a county want to step backward by electing members to the board who represent those who polarized our county by forcing their agenda on us? We showed our dissatisfaction of that board by defeating Martin and Conklin and replacing them with Bedwell and Sutherland.

Now Van Zant, seeing the writing on the wall and realizing his unelectableness, backs out of the race and endorses Diaz. In retrospect, she probably would have a better chance if she had distanced herself from his extreme partisanship. Oh, well. Once again our vote needs to show we won’t be fooled again.
