Winter’s coming: Snowboard swap

Snow could fall this week in the highest peaks of the Sierra Nevada, so it’s not too soon to think about winter sports.

Need gear? You’ll find deals on new and used equipment, clothing and accessories at the second annual Snowboard/Ski Swap from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Nevada Union High School girls’ gymnasium in Grass Valley.

Pull into the parking lot at the main entrance at 11761 Ridge Road, marked by the electric sign and the statue of the miner; the girls’ gym is at the end of the parking lot to the right of the glass entry doors.

To sell or donate used items, drop off times are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the girls’ gym. All items must be checked in during these times; do not leave items unattended.

For more information, contact Steve Olson at or (530) 913-3889. The Nevada Union Snowboard Team Booster Club will hold the meet.
