Winona Brownfield

Private services for Winona “Toni” Brownfield of Lompoc were conducted.

Mrs. Brownfield died Sunday, July 25, in Lompoc, following a lengthy illness. She was 79.

She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in McLouth, Kan., to Edward and Ethel (Smith) Toman. She was one of five sisters. During her high school years, her family moved to San Diego. She married Richard Brownfield in 1944 in San Diego. They lived in Spain from 1979 to 1982. After living in Lake Tahoe for several years, they moved to Lake Wildwood in 1986. She had been a resident of Lake Wildwood for 17 years before moving to Lompoc last year to be with her son, Duke. She was an active member and officer in the Women’s 9-Hole Golf Club and the Art Club.



He is survived by her son, Duke Brownfield of Lompoc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brownfield.
