Wind and warm weather expected for Sierra

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for strong winds today in the upper elevations of the Sierra.

In the Grass Valley – Nevada City area, winds are expected around 17 mph with gusts up to 40 and are expected to diminish tonight.

Temperatures today will remain unseasonably warm with a high of 59, climbing into the 60s Wednesday and staying there through the weekend. Lows will be near freezing during the week, climbing into the 40s for Saturday and Sunday.



Skies will be clear all week with clouds moving in Saturday that will bring a chance of showers for Super Bowl Sunday.
