William Welch

Private services for William “Bill” H. Welch of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.

Mr. Welch died Friday, Feb. 17, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was 80.

He was born March 8, 1925, in Los Angeles to Ralph and Dorothy Welch. He received a CPA certificate in 1962 from USC. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He married Lois Rhodes on March 16, 1946, in Huntington Park. He worked for various CPA firms and spent 20 years at Rockwell International. He was a former member of the Alta Sierra County Club. He enjoyed golf, fishing and travel.



He is survived by his wife, Lois Welch of Grass Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Margaret Welch of Everett, Wash.; son, Jim Welch of Thailand; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
