William Verna

Services for William M. Verna of Penn Valley will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Verna died Monday, Nov. 6, in Penn Valley. He was 78.

He was born March 29, 1928, in San Francisco, to Michael and Marie Verna. He attended high school in South San Francisco and some junior college. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was a retired delivery driver. He was a member of the Nevada City Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golfing and traveling.



He is survived by his sister, Toni Stubblefield of King City; stepdaughter, Kathleen Jenkins; and stepson, Joseph Pederer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Verna on Sept. 7, 2002; parents Michael and Marie Verna; son, Dennis Verna; and daughter, Sharon Verna.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
