William Thompson

A celebration of life for William N. Thompson of Grass Valley will be conducted in Southern California at a later date. Burial will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

Mr. Thompson died Saturday, Sept. 4, in Grass Valley. He was 94.

He was born Nov. 29, 1909, in Olhman, Ill., to Henry Riley and Harriet Jane (McClain) Thompson. He married Marjorie in October 1928 in Springfield, Ill. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He enjoyed woodworking and volunteering at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.



He is survived by 11 children, 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie Elaine Thompson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
