William Penn

A celebration of life for William “Bill” Byron Penn of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Grass Valley Moose Lodge. A potluck will follow.

Mr. Penn died Tuesday, April 25, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was 70

He was born July 20, 1935, in Wichita, Kan., to Chalmer and Jessi Penn. He attended Grass Valley schools and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a contractor. He was a member of the Grass Valley Moose, Bullion Fire Department and Bunces Place. He enjoyed airplanes, air shows, fishing, being with family and camping at Loney Meadows.

He is survived by his children William “Ron” Penn Jr., Laurie Stice, Rob Penn and Denise Tendwald; siblings and their families Don, Bob, and Cherri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
