Wild Women on Wine celebrates fun, friends

New releases from 20 wineries, gourmet cheeses, olive tasting, chocolate tasting, cookie tasting and coffee tasting will be part of Saturday’s “Wild Women on Wine Fall Fandango” at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center.

The event, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., also includes Ivan Najera and Friends playing Latin jazz dance music and a “Grape Stomp” fund-raiser with prizes. Organizers promise feet won’t become dirty in the stomp.

Admission is $35 for Wild Women on Wine members and $40 for nonmembers in advance, $45 at the door and $25 for designated drivers. Ticket outlets are Summerwood, Dorado Chocolates and the Enchanted Forest.

Starbucks coffee, Crystal Geyser sparkling fruit juice and Sierra Spring Water, served in a “Wild Women on Wine Sober Chauffeur” coffee mug, will be available for designated drivers.

Wild Women on Wine is a nonprofit organization that encourages women to celebrate friendship and fun. Saturday’s proceeds will go to the Barbara Schmidt Millar Celebration of Life Triathlon, which raises money for breast cancer causes, and the Nevada Union and Bear River high schools’ sober graduation night celebrations.
