Where are the fiscally responsible Democrats?

A recent letter writer stated that, “Democrats stand for fiscal responsibility.” Is he talking about the Democrat majority party who has controlled fiscal policy in Sacramento for over nine years, can’t balance the budget, and have bankrupted our state?

Is he talking about the Congressional Democratic majority in Washington, D.C., since 2006 that projects a 2010 deficit of $1.6 trillion, followed by their $3.8 trillion budget for 2010 that projects a $1.3 trillion deficit? Is it the fact that they just voted to raise the national debt ceiling by an additional $2 trillion to justify the unbalanced budget? The annual cost of our debt service is now greater than our military budget.

He also asks the Tea Party to come forth with ideas. The Tea Party is reaching out to Americans from every political part to support a return to real fiscal responsibility – a movement away from irresponsibility and excessive spending, borrowing and taxing policies. That is an idea that everyone should be able to support.

It’s time for Sacramento and Washington to discipline themselves to live within their means as the rest of us do. We’ve mortgaged enough of our children’s future.
