What’s coming up at Cooper’s?

Tonight: Brother Nefarious, a seven-piece rocking, soul, jazz, funkadelic first-time group that is hot. 8 p.m.-ish to midnight.

Friday: Mystafya, original roots rock reggae (see cover story). 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m., $5 cover

Saturday: Bob Mora & The Third Degree with special guest Rock and Roll Hall of Fame saxophonist Jerry Martini. Classic Chicago blues. Mora is local (Rough and Ready) and has been around a long time. Martini is an original member of Sly and the Family Stone. 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m., $5 cover.

Nascar Fun! 4 Lane Slot Car Racing every Sunday afternoon 2-6 p.m., no cover.

All weeknight shows are 8 p.m.-11p.m. (8:30ish to midnight or ? depending upon the crowd). All weekend shows are 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m. and occasionally a tad longer if the band is grooving. Cooper’s, 235 Commercial St., Nevada City.
