What a terrific community!

Local people opened their hearts to once more help others Feb. 9 as the hospitable South Yuba Club shared their facilities and spin instructors with 72 generous people who pedaled on the club’s stationary bikes to benefit the at-risk young people at Christian Encounter Ranch. For the fifth year Gary Clelan voluntarily organized and administrated the event.

Though it was the riders’ altruistic nature to give of themselves, Grass Valley and Nevada City merchants provided added incentives with wonderful prizes! Because of their consistent community spirit, the following are worthy of our patronage: Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop, South Pine Cafe, Starbucks, SPD Market, Humpty Dumpty Restaurant, Maui Beach Hut Tanning, Jamba Juice, Trolley Junction Restaurant, Paulette’s Country Kitchen, Tortilla Grill; also Larry and Lena’s Pizza, Charlie’s Angels, Yuba Blue, Big O Tires, Lamppost Pizza, Coldstone Creamery, Robinson’s Enterprises, Royal Dragon Chinese Buffet, Nevada City Picture Framing, Dave’s Automotive, Neck, Back and Beyond Massage and Northstar Ski Resort. Ever available with news of local happenings, KNCO and The Union provided great coverage of the Spin.

We’re grateful!
