Wesley Hiebert

Graveside services for Wesley Hiebert of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City. Pastor Andy Owens will officiate the services.

Mr. Hiebert died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital. He was 91.

He was born June 4, 1912, in Marion, Kan., to Isaac and Agunda Hiebert. He married Vivian Klassen on March 15, 1938, in Wasco. He farmed in Kansas and moved to California in 1964. He worked at Lawrence Livermore Lab for 15 years, retiring in 1979 and moving to Grass Valley. He enjoyed playing cards and bus trips to Reno.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Jeanne Hiebert of Nevada City; granddaughter, Lisa Hiebert of Nevada City; grandson, Calvin Hiebert of Grass Valley; and other grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, in 1999; two brothers; and two sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
