March is just a few days away, which means spring and summer will be here before your tan is ready for it

To prepare for warmer weather, it’s time to look in the mirror and focus on repairing the damage that dry winter air has done to one’s skin and hair.

Nevada County residents have access to world-class hair and beauty services and products at businesses such as Bon Bon Aveda Salon and CosmetiqueSpa.

The first step in being ready to face the season is to – work on your face. Inner beauty is something that cannot be bought; however, if you can highlight your own inner beauty by allowing highly trained professionals work on your outer beauty. then why not let your face shine?

Bon Bon Salon makeup artists Robin Bratton, Alex Gregory and Jules Asquini and esthetician Leolani Stanley all say the key to building a beautiful new look for spring and summer is to start with beautiful skin.

The salon exclusively features Aveda products, including skin care and makeup products made out of plant and flower extracts and are mineral based with no toxins or oils. Aveda makeup trends at Bon Bon salon include beautiful red lips, lash extensions, and anything that makes your skin shimmer and glow with a hint of summer bronze.

Bon Bon Salon is so proud of the Aveda makeup line that they are offering 50 percent off Aveda lipstick when you bring in your old lipstick.

At CosmetiqueSpa, makeup artists Becky Welsh and Michele Blum love working with mineral based makeup brand Young Blood and agrees that a beautiful lip and luscious lashes are a must this season.

Young Blood makeup trends include color palettes such as berry and purple, gray and pink. Welsh recommends a berry or plum lip, which tends to be more wearable and sophisticated when highlighted with smoky eyes and a plum berry blush.

Welsh also notes that it’s extremely important to start with great skin and recommends visiting Jeanne Rhey, the on-staff esthetician to prepare your skin before you layer your spring colors.

CosmetiqueSpa is so excited about their Young Blood beauty collection that they are hosting a Fashion and Beauty event with Cabi clothes on from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the salon. Stop by CosmetiqueSpa for this VIP event and learn how Young Blood and Cabi clothes can get you ready for spring and summer!

To finish off your beautiful skin and face this season, it’s a must to update your hair with hints of color and a stellar new cut. Aveda Color Specialist Leah Hellman at Bon Bon Salon encourages people to visit http://www.colorkarma.com to receive a $20 coupon which can be redeemed for your first Aveda experience.

Leah encourages people to try warmer blond tones such as honey and deeper rich colors like copper to add dimension and accent. For an amazing cut, master stylist and salon owner Catherine Peters suggests trying a look from the Aveda Cut Collection due to launch April 1, or just have her or one of the other 3 master stylists create a custom look that will flatter your own features. And for those guys out there who need a fresh new look, Catherine is offering $25 for a guy’s first Aveda haircut.

At CosmetiqueSpa, your hair will be taken care of well at In Full Bloom Salon owned and operated by Michele Blum inside the Spa. Michele Blum works exclusively with Enjoy and Joico products which offer sulfate free and pH neutral products with natural ingredients.

Michele custom blends each client’s hair color to maximize the overall beauty impact and relies heavily on her experience as a Master Colorist and Educator for Enjoy.

At In Full Bloom Salon inside CosmetiqueSpa, hair color trends for spring and summer include honey and butterscotch highlights for blondes, caramel and chocolate hazelnut accents for browns and brunettes, and bright ruby red and deep mahogany and amaretto for redheads. Spa owner and veteran hair stylist Sharen Deardorff encourages her clients to try a shattered hair cut which adds texture and movement, perfect for the coming months, and welcomes even the guys to come in a see how, with just a little attention from the staff at CosmetiqueSpa, they too can look and feel their very best this season.

There is no excuse this spring and summer season not to have the total package with these hair and beauty professionals offering world class services and products right here in Nevada County. Both businesses welcome you to stop by today to experience color and style consultations to help you look your very best this season, so take the time and put your best face forward.
