The name of Lola Montez received half of the votes and was the winner of The Union’s online poll for what to call the Grass Valley frontage roads for the Golden Center Freeway.

There were six choices on the poll, culled from a total of 34 submitted to the Grass Valley City Council, who will decide the name at a meeting tonight.

The runner up was Mark Twain Way, which received 37.6 percent of the total. Wolf Creek got 6.2 percent, Chinatown Street 4 percent and Lotta Crabtree 1.7 percent. Coming in last was Edward Tellum, with 0.5 percent of the vote.

The unscientific poll appeared on The Union Monday evening and ended at 5 p.m. today.

The decision will be in The Union tomorrow, and more about it can be read in the article,
