Wayne Gray

Services for Wayne Gray of Nevada City will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Gray died Wednesday, March 20, in Grass Valley. He was 57.



He was born March 13, 1945, in Homestead, Fla., to Frank and Lavonia Gray. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a military policeman in the early 1960s. He graduated from high school, the military police academy and forest firefighter training. He enjoyed arts and crafts, collecting Civil War memorabilia and music.




He is survived by his daughters Tonya Sweat of Grass Valley and Lydia Snead of Reno; sons Cody Gray and Jordon McCormick, both of Fairfield, Ohio; grandsons Joshua Sweat and Dustin Blowers, both of Grass Valley; granddaughter, Trinity Blowers of Grass Valley; sister, Shirley King of Nevada City; and brothers Gary Gray of Malone, Fla., Kenny Gray of Winter Park, Fla., and Curtis Gray of Homestead. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1958 and father in 1975.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
