Wanda Manning

Wanda Helen Manning, 82, of Grass Valley, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, in Grass Valley.

No services are planned.

Mrs. Manning was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Thomas A. and Epsie E. Reed. She graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell. She married William Manning on April 12, 1940. She was a housewife. She also ran a daycare for many years. She started a kitchen band and enjoyed quilting, sewing and painting.

She is survived by her husband, William Manning of Grass Valley; children Sara Baker of Grass Valley, William Jr. of Livermore and Shari Laine of San Ramon; grandchildren Kim Cierley of Missouri, Kelli Raible of Nevada, Karan Appleman of Grass Valley, Matt Laine of San Ramon, Katie Ann of San Ramon and Melissa Manning of Oakland; great-grandchildren Amber Scribner of Oregon, Leah Johnson of Kentucky, Chance Cierley of Missouri, Amanda Raible of Nevada, Timothy Raible of Nevada, James Mitchell of Florida, Char McCoy of Grass Valley and Dan McCoy of Grass Valley; great-great-granddaughter, Zoey R. Raible of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Elmer Reed and Thomas A. Reed Jr.; father, Thomas Reed Sr.; and mother, Epsie Reed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Higgins Fire Department, 10106 Combie Road, Auburn 95602.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
