Wallace Martin

Private services will be conducted for Wallace E. Martin of Colfax. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland.

Mr. Martin died Thursday, Feb. 7, in Grass Valley. He was 88.

He was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Scipio, Utah, to Wesley and Zella (Memmott) Martin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Elizabeth Meese on Nov. 21, 1943.

He was a retired wholesale grocery salesman. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth S. Martin of Colfax; sons Larry M. Martin of Weimar and Terry E. Martin of Nevada City; daughter, Cheryl E. McCloud of Nevada City; six sisters; grandchildren Re-gina Martin, Daniel Martin, Shaun McCloud and Elaine McCloud; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Claude Martin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lassila Funeral Chapel in Auburn.
