Walk in the park at Empire Mine State Historic Park

Visitors taking place in Highway 49 familiarization trips will spend time exploring Empire Mine in Grass Valley.

North Carolina’s David and Holly Schneeman enjoy a stroll through the gardens at Empire Mine State Historic Park Tuesday afternoon as part of their month long tour of California State and National Parks.

The couple has enjoyed the California Redwoods, portions of the Big Sur coast, and are making their way toward Yosemite National Park before heading back east.

Empire Mine State Historic Park’s visitor’s center and facilities are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
