Vote for Nate Beason

I am recommending a vote for Nate Beason to be the Nevada County supervisor in District 1 to replace Peter Van Zant. He was the only candidate to ask for my help, and so I investigated what he stands for. The other candidates on the March 2, 2004, Primary Election were Olivia T. Diaz and Joshua Ramey. Mr. Ramey has since dropped out and urged his supporters to vote instead for Beason.

I believe that Olivia Diaz is a qualified candidate, but that Nate Beason has a better view of Nevada City, Grass Valley, and the surrounding towns in so far as the negative impact that proposed new developments will have on our community. This impact includes worsening traffic conditions and environmental degradation.

I also agree with his stand on supporting effective firefighting. The recent fires and their resulting fallout bring this message home.

Finally, Nate Beason’s longtime familiarity with residents of this area gives him the knowledge to represent our wishes.
