Vote Bob Joehnck for supervisor

The great wine maker, Robert Mondavi, passed away last week. His life’s work has relevance to the future of our own community.

By putting Napa Valley on the world map of premier wine regions, he saved it from becoming just another suburb with endless housing developments and strip malls. Nevada County has its share of good wineries, but it is not as fortunate as Napa Valley was in the 1970s. We must be diligent in order to save our rural and small town environments from unfettered development.

The argument that in order to attract “green” businesses, more and wider roads and infrastructure are needed, is self defeating and disingenuous. Let’s be honest. Concrete and asphalt are never “green.” In the end, runaway development will destroy what we all love about this area.

Look past the shallow arguments in the upcoming election. Study the growth initiative and the candidates that support them. Who are their business associates? Where do their interests lie? Follow the money.

Specifically, in Nevada County District 2, only one candidate for supervisor can be trusted not to be in the pockets of the developers. That candidate is Bob Joehnck.
