VIVIAN RUSSEL

Luzviminda “Vivian” Russell died Aug. 31 in Grass Valley. She was 54.

Services were held Sept. 3 at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City. Rev. Anne Nielsen officiated. Viewing preceded the services. Burial took place at Sierra Memorial Lawn in Nevada City.

Mrs. Russell was born Dec. 19, 1953, in the Philippines to Macario Cortez and Felicidad Danga Cortez. She was schooled at the Christian Hospital in the Philippines. She married Gordon Russell on Sept. 7, 1980.



Mrs. Russell worked as a hairstylist, nurses aide and midwife. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, being with friends and hairstyling.

Mrs. Russell is survived by her husband, Gordon Russell; son, Kirk Russell, and daughter, Loni Russell, all of Grass Valley.




She was preceded in death by her father, Macario Cortez and mother, Felicidad Cortez.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
