Vivian Burns

Private services for Vivian M. Burns of Nevada City will be conducted.

Mrs. Burns died Friday, Jan. 2, in Grass Valley. She was 84.

She was born June 9, 1919, in Glendale, to Harry and Flora Hugo. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1937. She married Robert O. Burns on July 28, 1940, in Las Vegas, Nev. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and animals.



She is survived by her husband, Robert O. Burns of Nevada City; sons Robert A. Burns of Las Vegas, Nev., and Timothy E. Burns of Nevada City; brothers Glenn Hugo of Glendale, and Clifford Hugo of Pasadena; daughter-in-law, Mariam Burns of Whittier; granddaughters Kimberly Burns of La Harbra and Wendy Burns of Arcata; and grandson, Ian Burns of Whittier. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sorenie Hoffman in 2001; and brother, Victor Hugo in 2003.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pet Adoption League or a charity of the donor’s choice.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
