Vital choices

Voters are going to make vital choices for the Penn Valley Fire Protection District in November. Measure R needs a resounding yes vote so that our fire department can keep up with ever-increasing emergency calls. The need to staff the Penn Valley station is critical to all residents of the District ” please vote yes on R.

The second vital choice is for three seats on the board. During the past year, many changes have occurred, and differences have been resolved in a positive manner. The board hired a full-time chief, reduced office staff and increased firefighter staffing to three per shift. Applications from paid-call firefighters have increased. The district replaced its outmoded computer system, and installation of stoplight controls to increase response time is being actively pursued. In addition, the board has an excellent relationship with the PVFD Auxiliary and the Firefighters Association.

This board is unified in working for the best interests of the district in a cost-effective manner, while planning for future needs. Please vote to return the two incumbents to office and to include a district resident who has worked tirelessly for Measure R. Please mark your ballots for: Kurt Grundel, Randy Casto and Rick Noelle.
