Visit Italy at ‘A Night in Sorrento’

Who wouldn’t like to go on a romantic trip to Italy? But for many people it just isn’t possible. Luckily, on Friday, Nov. 10, the Gold Country Community Center has you covered with the next best thing, “A Night in Sorrento.”

For what promises to be great fun, the center’s ballroom will be transformed into an Italian restaurant where a three-course spaghetti dinner will be served. Nevada county’s own Beverly Marks and accordion player Pasty Hannebrink will perform as strolling musicians.

The night begins at 5:30 at Gate 2, Nevada County Fairgrounds on McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Admission is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers (or become a member on the spot). All proceeds benefit the multitude of recreational and activity programs, “Meals on Wheels” nutritional services and educational programs offered to Nevada County residents of all ages. Call 273-4961 for more information.
