Private services for Virginia “Lorraine” Videgain of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date.

Mrs. Videgain died Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Grass Valley. She was 84.

She was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Santa Monica, to Stephen and Lupe Dohs. She married Valentine Videgain on Feb. 20, 1947, in Reno, Nev. She was a bookkeeper for Ray’s Plumbing for 13 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 28 years, and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Grass Valley Chapter 1767. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and fishing.



She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Ralph and Shirley Hernandez of Santa Ynez, and Val and Cindy Videgain of Chicago Park; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Dennis Akers of Grass Valley; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Theresa Dohs of Vacaville; long-time friend, Willie Ray of Grass Valley; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
