Virginia Moore

Private services for Virginia Willard Moore of Grass Valley will be conducted.

Mrs. Moore died Sunday, Feb. 6. She was 81.

She was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Oxnard, to Clarence and Elizabeth Willard. After attending Ventura College for two years, she took her nurses training at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles. She was a nurse for over 57 years. Prior to her career at Sutter-Auburn Faith Hospital, she was the emergency room nursing supervisor at Encino Hospital in Encino for nearly 20 years. She married Merrill W. Moore on Dec. 31, 1945, in Camarillo. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Red Hat Society.



She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Lucia Moore of Simi Valley, and Timothy and Cheryl Moore of Grass Valley; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Bill and Michiko Walter of Truckee; grandson, Patrick Moore of Bay City, Mich.; granddaughter, Elissa Moore of Roseville; great-grandsons Corbin Walton of Truckee and Matthew Brian of Roseville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Merrill W. Moore; and grandson, Michael W. Moore Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund, Sutter-Auburn Faith Hospital, 11815 Education St., Auburn 95602.
