Virginia Mackey

Services for Virginia Lee Mackey of Nevada City will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Mrs. Mackey died Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Grass Valley. She was 72.

She was born April 10, 1931, in Santa Maria to George and Olga Poh. She married James Mackey on April 20, 1951, in Torrance. She worked for Mackey Real Estate for 28 years. She was a member of the Nevada County Board of Realtors and was Realtor of the Year in 1994. She enjoyed her rose garden.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Mackey of Nevada City; sons Scott Mackey of Nevada City and Doug Mackey of Bellflower; brother, George Poh of Palm Desert; sister, Janet Vigil of Hawthorne; and grandsons William Mackey of Southern California and Isaiah Mackey of Arkansas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
