Virginia Briceno

Virginia Mary Briceno died Oct. 2 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. She was 82.

No service has been planned at this time. Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes scattered in the Sierra Nevada.

Mrs. Briceno was born April 19, 1928, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Elia and Cecilia George. After graduating from business school, she worked as a secretary at various jobs. On Oct. 22, 1950, she married Rodolfo “Rudy” Briceno and they had three children, Rody, David and Loretta. She attended community college in Springfield, Mass., while working for the state. She moved to Fair Oaks, Calif., in 1984 and then moved to Alta Sierra in 1993.



She enjoyed shopping, reading, cooking and traveling. She was interested in politics, the news and people.

Mrs. Briceno is survived by three brothers: Dave, Phil and Tony George. She was preceded in death by sisters Loretta, Marian George and Gloria.




Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary, Grass Valley.
