Services were held Monday for Violet Nunnelley at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. She was buried next to her husband, Albert.

Mrs. Nunnelley died Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Upland. She was 83.



She was born March 12, 1919, in Alberta, Canada. She met and married Albert Nunnelley in 1935. They were real estate entrepreneurs and handled everything from painting to design to building construction. After the death of Albert in 1975, she continued with the business. She was a member of the Eastern Star Hollywood Chapter for many years and served as Past Worthy Matron in 1965. She retired to Grass Valley in 1986 and continued her business activities by owning and operating The Office Lounge, which closed in 1996. She enjoyed the challenges of business and personal finance, cooking and family activities.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine “Lori” Hendrickson and Arthur Middlecamp, and Jeanette Wilson and Bruce Biddle; grandchildren Heather Livingston, George and Leigh Livingston, Diana Starks, Greg Starks Jr., Albert Pendry and Erick Hendrickson; nieces Jeanne Wheeler and Mary Lou Brown; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
