Verda Willis

Graveside services for Verda Spain Willis of Grass Valley will be conducted Friday at Bass Chapel, Highway 125, Strafford, Mo.

Mrs. Willis died Friday, Oct. 27, in Grass Valley. She was 100.

She was born May 11, 1906, in Strafford to James and Anna Adams. She graduated from cosmetology school and became a beautician in Springfield, Mo. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, quilting and crocheting.



She is survived by her sister, Onieda Johnson of Gladstone, Ore.; cousin, Charles “Chuck” Melton of Springfield, Mo.; granddaughters Dana Lundstrom of Fresno, Gina Montague of Grass Valley and Georgia Tomlinson of Grass Valley; great-grandson, Evan Lundstrom of Fresno; great-granddaughters Amanda Montague and Tiffany Pinneo of Grass Valley; and great-great-grandson Nathan Pinneo of Grass Valley. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jean Thompson in 1988; brothers Loyd, Wayne and Russell Adams; and sisters Helen Johnson, Opal Morrison, and Nola LaFon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
