Venlora Clawson

Visitation for friends and family of Venlora “Vennie” Taylor Clawson will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Edgemont 15th Ward Chapel, 4000 North Foothill Drive in Provo, Utah. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Edgemont 15th Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.

Mrs. Clawson died Friday, March 17, at the home of her daughter, Penny Hardy in Provo, Utah. She was 93.

She was born on June 17, 1912, in Preston, Idaho, to George John Taylor and Augusta Elva George Taylor. She was an active lifetime member of the LDS Church, sealed in the Provo Temple. For 35 years, she was a leader and administrator for the Girl Scouts of America. She volunteered at the Nevada County Senior Center for 12 years. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was an artist, genealogist, and enjoyed spending time with and making things for her family.



She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Lora Mae and Bob Leach of Orange, Shirley and Curt Irwin of Provo, Utah, and Penny and Marvin Hardy of Provo, Utah; brothers Robert Clawson of Provo, Utah, Chris Clawson of LaConner, Wash., and Alvin Clawson of Laguna Beach; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ohmer V. Clawson, in 1993.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary.
