Vaudeville act includes train ride, snow cones

Tony Castle will combine his one-man vaudeville show with a train ride and unlimited snow cones this Sunday at the Nevada County Traction Company.

Castle takes audience members back to the days of the “Big Brown Radio,” 78 RPM records and performers such as Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason and Ernie Kovacs.

Performing for 30 years in theater, comedy and film, the Grass Valley entertainer now performs his one-man show at senior centers and retirement communities – up to 30 shows monthly across the country.

Sunday’s train departs at 2 p.m. and returns at 4:15 p.m. The ride includes narration about California’s train history and a tour of an 1860s’ Chinese cemetery.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for ages 2 to 12.

The Nevada County Traction Company is at 402 Railroad Ave. in Nevada City.
