Valerie Jeffery

Services for Valerie Jeffery of Penn Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the Penn Valley Community Church.

Mrs. Jeffery died Friday, March 17, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 88.

She was born Jan. 25, 1918, in Grass Valley, to Edward Bennett and Beatrice Wasley. She graduated from high school and Heald Business College. She married James C. Jeffery on July 4, 1941. He retired as lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lake Wildwood Women’s Eighteen Hole Golf Club. She was an avid golfer and club champion with six holes in one. She enjoyed golf, bridge and pinochle.



She is survived by her son, Jim Jeffery of Galt; daughter, Jill Jeffery of Penn Valley; grandchildren Jamie Conger, Matt, Adam, and Katie Jeffery; and great-grandchildren Hannah and Chase Conger. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Jeffery in 1997.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital or Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
