USFS seeks volunteers to repair Placer OHV area

Forest Service officials have outlined a process to determine how and when the storm damaged Sugar Pine Off Highway Vehicle area in Placer County could be re-opened, and if possible, prior to the May 25 Emergency Order expiration date.

Currently the trails are closed due to a series of heavy storms that hit the area in December and early January. Since that time, ongoing storms have continued to cause problems in the area.

The Ranger District will be having work days to repair the system. If you would like to volunteer or for more information, contact the American River Ranger District at (530) 367-2224 or view the Forest Web site at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/.
