Unsung heroes

The Union has been generous in the coverage of events at our schools and the coverage of this year’s NU Unplugged 2007 was no exception. Your coverage of the performers has been excellent and without the performers we would not have a show.

There are many others who really deserve special identification for their efforts: Mr. Loren Brown because without him there would be no NU Unplugged. The crew- in the booth, senior theatre technicians Iris Malone, sound, and Brooke Bandy, lights. On-stage theatre technicians Emily Switzer, Krista Walton and Ryan Kalb. Interns for the show- Bear River students Jay Rankin and Kellee Morgado.

For almost eight years, I have been sharing my knowledge and experience with a select group of Nevada Union and now Bear River High School students in the form of evening classes. The theaters in our district are student-run, meaning students actually run the shows – at the recent N.U. Unplugged, the sound and lighting was done by students! As a parent, I am very proud of all my students!

NUHSD Students may apply for admission to this class by submitting a letter describing who they are, what they would bring to the class as well as what they want to learn. Include name, phone number and email address. The letter can be dropped off in my mailbox at Nevada Union (in the principal’s office) or mailed to N.U., care of me.
