United Way of Nevada County’s 11th Annual Day of Action set for May 31
United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) is planning its 11th annual “Day of Action.” This is a national day of service for United Ways throughout the world; a day with the mission of positively changing communities. This year, Nevada County’s “Day of Action” will be held on May 31. This day of giving back to the community is designed to be a fun and rewarding event for all individuals involved. In the past, many projects have been accomplished on this day of collaboration, such as painting, gardening, weeding, organizing, building things and more.
Each year, people from all parts of the community come together to help the nonprofit organizations that work so hard all year to help the people who need it most. Businesses and individuals sign up to help. Students and families are always welcome to join the fun and help the community. Megan Timpany, executive director of UWNC, said, “We look forward to working with the volunteers that will be participating in the 11th Annual Day of Action. Without such wonderful volunteers, we would not be able to hold this great day of action.”
