Unfit for office

When Bruce Conklin first drifted into Nevada County, many ” including me ” remember his socialistic rhetoric and extreme environmentalist rants.

He once told me, in the early ’80s on a tree-planting job, if he had the power he would take away all the private property from large landowners like Southern Pacific Land Company (the largest private landowner in Nevada County at the time). Then he would dole out 20-acre plots to poor people and tell each one what to grow and harvest each year for the people. In simple English, he (the government elite) would tell the subjects (the proletariat) what to produce on the people’s plot (the collective farm).

That was long before he promoted the nuclear free zone initiative for Nevada County, which included a mandatory peace curriculum in our high schools. (The initiative was rescinded the next election). Then as supervisor he tried to force NH 2020 and its resource report down our throats. (The very resource report his buds developed in your back yard without one ground measurement to verify the accuracy, but they did say trust us.)

And now the recent exposure of abuse of power, favoritism, sweetheart deals, and paybacks using county funds. I’m sooo shocked!
