Two injured in early-morning crash

An early-morning crash Friday injured two Grass Valley residents, one critically.

Sage Dailey, 19, was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Highway 20 at the Interstate 80 onramp at about 1 a.m. when he slid out and over-corrected, according to a California Highway Patrol report. The Jeep spun off the road and hit a tree, the report said.

Dailey sustained minor lacerations and was transported by ambulance to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital.

His passenger, Lynn Hawkins, 20, reportedly sustained facial lacerations and was complaining of difficulty breathing and back pain. She was transported by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon.
