Where did the year go?
It makes me sad to be writing this last 2019 article for the Putters. I guess we were having so much fun on Thursdays mornings I lost track of time.
This article will begin with the last meeting of September. On Sept. 26, Cathy Jones, our co-captain, shot eight aces to be the greatest ace shooter of our recorded history. Obviously she took first place in the ace shooting portion of the day’s meeting.
Three aces each gave a second place share to Rita Texeira and Arlene Thelen. Irmgard Boies won third place by scoring two aces. Fourth place, with one ace each, was shared by Carol Campbell, Rose Frazier-Hart, Babsie Bostic, Linda Brown, Kathy Hendricks, Cherie Mayfield, Kathy McLendon, Judy Mann, Susan Dean, Patti Lawrence and Dianne Riel.
When it came to the putting tournament, I bet you won’t be surprised to learn that Cathy Jones shot a 31 for first place! Arlene Thelen took second place with a 35. Rita Texeira and Irmgard shared third place with scores of 36.
