Veterans’ Columbarium Approved

Ed Wydra

The Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services of the Diocese of Sacramento proposal for a 72-niche columbarium for veterans and spouses to be located in the designated veterans’ section at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Grass Valley was recently approved.

Fifteen veterans signed letters of intent and a celebration meeting will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Hall, 235 Chapel Street, Grass Valley. Lunch included.

At this meeting, a representative from the Diocese of Sacramento will present a rendition of the veterans’ columbarium and its design features.

Additionally, they will answer any questions, select locations on the columbarium, finalize contract details and collect down payments from the 15 initial veterans.

Veterans and spouses who have not signed the letter of intent but are interested in learning more about the project are more than welcome to attend.

Please RSVP to Ed Wydra at 432-2591 or edwydra@comcast.net.
