Roots and Wings Wine Cruise this Weekend
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the community for their amazing support this year, our 24th year!
Our home hosts are: Susan and By Manard, Carol and Bob Hamilton, Bobbi and Tom Tomasello, Betty and Martin Harvey, Karen and John Ashbaugh, Sandy and Dick Greene, and a new home this year is Cathy and MIke Noland”s.
Our crew, so far, of Boat Captains includes: Elmer Fairbanks (having driven all 24 years), Paul Keasberry, Dick Flynn, Dan Bartlett, Jeff Babbage, Rich Morris, Tom Watson, Kirk Miller, Ken Krueger, Gary Lynn, Larry Chazen, John Haynes, Loel Miller-Fee, John Norton, and Fred Huberty.
Our local caterers are: Twelve 28, Blue Cow, Moi’s Thai Cafe, Bistro 221, At Your Service, and Earl Keene. Winery’s are Gray Pine, Lucchesi, Szabo, Naggier, Starr, and Nevada City Winery.
Our most generous sponsors include Lions Club, The Chamber and Rotary, Budget Blinds, Penn Valley Tru Value Hardware, Telestream, John Ashbaugh and Premier Mushrooms, Pam Sikes Reality, Verger Mortgage Foster and Associates. There will be an abundance of volunteers at each home, including many teachers and staff from our Penn Valley Schools.
The Roots and Wings Foundation is overwhelmed and very grateful to all of this support.
We were able to raise over $10,000 last year from our 2016 cruise, and hope to exceed that figure this year for our students’ academic and enrichment programs.
We hope everyone has a wonderful time on Saturday, can stay cool with this never ending heat wave, and come back next year for our 25th!
